Exit explores how the shadows of the First World War, often seen as the beginning of the modern era, still live
amongst us. People from the present pass through a 300 year old door. The projection acts as a memory or trace
of past events. Through the projection our sense of time is blurred, the memory of an event co-exists with the
present with a ghost-like quality. The piece is also a nod to the future and the ultimate unknown that is death.
We will all be memorialised, like those who passed away during WWI.
