A Conversation with Rıdvan Gölcük
A Conversation on the Troy Journey with the Director of the Museum of Troy, Rıdvan Gölcük, Took Place at MAHAL on Friday, June 13!
With its collection, architecture, and the heritage it represents, the Museum of Troy is one of Turkey’s most significant cultural institutions. Shortly after the museum’s opening, Rıdvan Gölcük was appointed as its director, bringing this multilayered heritage together through his unique communication and collaboration strategies.
As Gölcük himself describes, Troy has entered a new phase where its connection to this land and its meaning for today are reexamined: following the mythology (1.0) and archaeology (2.0) versions, the Museum (3.0) version has emerged. Through his work, Gölcük has turned Troy into an active participant or implementer of many global-scale projects that highlight local values in line with a contemporary museology approach. At MAHAL, he shared various aspects of the Museum of Troy experience.
